Monthly Gathering:
Sustainability in hair salons, with Rochelle Berryman
7pm Monday 20th April, Lindfield Seniors Hall

Did you know hair can be used to soak up oil spills?

Join us this month to learn all about this and more, with Rochelle Berryman, a Business Development Consultant with Sustainable Salons, working at the intersection of sustainability, business, and community impact.

Rochelle will tell us about Sustainable Salons — how it started, who’s behind it, and how the program works day-to-day. She'll touch on:

  • How salons can recycle up to 95% of their waste
  • The impact this creates for people, the planet, and the wider community
  • Some real-life examples of how it works in practice
  • A bit about Soilz Alive – a hair-powered soil treatment – and how we’re turning waste into something that can give back to the earth.

Rochelle has a background in psychology, education, and nutritional medicine, and brings a people-first, holistic approach to her work – helping businesses take simple, practical steps toward reducing waste and doing better for the planet. Originally from New Zealand and now based in Sydney, she loves the ocean, nature, and being part of communities that care about creating a more sustainable future.

Doors open at 6.30pm. Come early to help set up, browse the library or find a treasure on the Reuse and Recycle table.

Stick around for a cuppa and a chat after the speaker. Supper will be provided by the Ryde/Hunters Hill group this month.

This event is free for members and guests. Please register so we know how many to expect.
